and fine woodworker for over 30 years.
He wants to make his knowledge and experience available to you.

This workshop is not a certification course, but it is a
hands-on practical course that will empower you to
design and build your own cabinets that are affordable, functional and beautiful!

- introduce you to the art of cabinet making.
- help you feel comfortable with the tools used in cabinet making and give you the confidence to use them safely.
- teach basic principles of cabinet making, including how to design, plan, select wood and determine the processes and techniques to put it all together
- teach simple joinery techniques for making strong, functional, lasting cabinets
- teach decorative techniques for turning simple cabinets into beautiful pieces!

Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations made up to 14 days before the beginning of any workshop will receive a full refund minus the non-refundable deposit
- Cancellations made within 14 days of the start of the workshop will receive a %50 refund
- There are no refunds for cancellations made after the start of the workshop. (Depending on circumstances - a credit may be offered for any other course that a person may wish to sign up for. This will be assessed on an individual basis)

Course Outline
Day 1 - Principles of Cabinet Making
- Learn the main principles of cabinet making - breaking down the basic components of a cabinet.
- Learn cabinet making terminologies
- Learn basic design, structure and construction approaches to cabinetry for kitchen cabinets, wall cabinetry and shelving, free standing cabinetry, as well as doors and drawers
Day 2 - Practice Basic Joinery Techniques
- Practice basic processes and techniques used in cabinet making
- Learn how to make and apply various methods for joining and assembling the different component parts of a cabinet including joinery techniques such as butt joints, rabbett joints, dowel joints, biscuit joints, and mortise and tenon joints.
Day 3 - Begin Making a Base Cabinet with Drawer
- In teams of two and starting with a predetermined design, students will build their own base cabinet with one drawer.
- Covered in Day 3 will also be basics of door joinery when making doors for cabinetry.
Day 4 - Install Doors and Drawers in Your Cabinet
- Finish making cabinet and drawer
- Learn how to install doors and drawers using modern European hinges and drawer slides.
