As the cost of building skyrockets,
do-it-yourself is becoming more and more popular
and for many, more and more necessary!

This is not a certification course but
it is a course that will
it is a course that will
- empower you to do projects that you want to do.
- confirm your feeling that you could do it if you just had a bit more knowledge and someone to show you how to go at it.
- make you comfortable with the terminology and the tools,
- give you the ability to know what tools you need (and don't need).
- instill the confidence and skill needed to use them.
A great opportunity to learn new skills in a
beautiful setting with a supportive and gifted teacher

Many people living in rural areas have old houses
which need a lot of work! Lloyd will cover a variety of topics and skills needed for basic carpentry.
The classes are orientated towards carpentry that is practical and affordable. Each day will be a combination of knowledge and theory
with hands on practice and doing.
There are lots of YouTube videos out there for this kind of thing, yet
there is nothing like working directly with someone
who can guide you through a process until
you feel comfortable on your own.
(then the you tube videos are great!)
The course will not only cover framing houses but making and installing many of the elements inside a house such as cabinetry, shelving and trim.
Each day will be a complete unit so that you can sign up for any day, or sign up for all 4 days and get a discount. The course is designed so that each day will build on the previous unit but is not be dependent on it.
(Age limit - 16 years and up. If you are younger and
want to take the course,
please contact Lloyd to arrange an interview.)

Testimonials from previous workshop participants
I got so much out of our time with you. Your teaching space is perfect. I have always loved the idea of working with tools and building things. I have tried a few things here and there, but did not have the confidence to do too much. It felt daunting to start. I didn’t know if I had the right tools. After four days with you, I have three projects on the go. We are already making plans for next Spring to get a shed and a bunkie built.
Your way of explaining things is so easy to absorb and apply. The time flew by.
Thank you for generously sharing your knowledge and passion for carpentry and woodworking. I had so much fun and learned a tonne! A.S.
I'd like express how grateful I am for the judgement-free instruction, comprehensive feedback and philosophical linkages you've framed your classes around and the atmosphere that you created and that people experienced while taking your classes - of learning inclusively and vulnerably. It is exactly the type of course - and likely resulting community - I was hoping would come from your facebook post last winter. G.B.
